Rolf G. Kirst has been involved in the franchise scene in Germany for more than 25 years. After 8 years in hotel management, he started his own company in 1978 in the travel industry as a tour operator. In 1994 he bought the master license for Germany and Austria from Uniglobe Travel, a Vancouver-based Canadian franchise organization with partners in over 60 countries worldwide. In 1999 R.G. Kirst was awarded as ‘Franchisor of the year’ and at the same time elected as a board member of the German franchise association DFV, responsible for international affairs. He was 13 years on the board of the DFV and EFF, and in the WFC he represents the German Franchise Association. With numerous trips around world, Rolf G. Kirst has attended different franchise events as a visitor and guest speaker. In this way he acquired a sound knowledge of international franchising, which he now passes on to franchisors who are interested in international expansion. Since 2004 he founded a network of international franchise consultants and brokers under the name Franchise Pool International.

Rose has unrivalled experience in international franchising and has
been operating in this field since 1984. Initially working for major
corporations, such as Burger King and Arcadia Group Plc, Farrah began advising
businesses as a consultant in 1996. During this time she has worked with
organisations of all types from family businesses to major PLC companies and

Iain Martin. After working at Board level in a major IT business, Iain bought his first franchise in 1994. This was a white-collar consultancy business, which helped companies become franchisors. This gave him experience of being a franchisee, and also extensive insight into what makes a good franchisor. He sold this business in 1999, and set up a match-making business for linking franchisors to suitably qualified franchisees. This business developed into a network of 11 franchised consultants across the UK, and gave Iain a real insight into some of the challenges and opportunities of being a franchisor.
